All documents issued in Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia, must be legalized by the Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy in Vienna, so that they can be valid in Brazil. Copies of documents can also be authenticated by this Consular Section.  .

I) LEGALIZATION OF SIGNATURE

- The Consular Section can  legalize signatures of the following authorities, as long as a sample signature is on file at the Consular Section:

Austria


Chambers of Commerce

Notary Publics
Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Slovakia Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Slovenia Ministry of Foreign Affairs
   

 -   Brazilian citizens who have a sample signature on file at the Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy.
-    Non-Brazilian citizens as long as they  hold a valid RNE (Brazilian identity card for foreigners with permanent visa)

The signature of Non-Brazilian citizens without valid RNE-ID must be authenticated by a notary public responsible for  the district in which the document has been  issued and have a sample signature on file  at the Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy.

Every document written in a foreign language, must be translated in Brazil by a public translator.

Consular fee

€ 20,00 per document
€ 60,00 for more than three documents for the same person or institution,
closed in one apostil provided by a notary public
€ 5.00 per document intended for school purposes
€ 15,00 for more than three documents for school purposes in one apostil
for the same person

The consular fee must be deposited in or transferred to the bank account of the Brazilian Embassy. Copy of the receipt must be sent to the Consular Section.
Account number

Documents to be legalized can be sent by post.
A self addressed envelope must be included.
For residents in Austria, sufficient stamps to cover the postal costs must be included.
For residents in Slovakia and Slovenia, postal fees must be added to the deposited / transfered  consular fees. Usually the sum of  € 5,20.

Processing time: a minimum of five (05)  working days after receipt of consular fees into the Consular bank account. plus the time required by the postal services.

All consular documents and procedures will only be returned to the interessed party(ies) after receipt of full payment from the Austrian Bank is verified.  If fees are paid in cash - and proof of payment is presented at the Consular Section, documents will take less time to process.

II) AUTHENTICATION OF COPIES

To authenticate copies of documents for validity in Brazil, the original and a copy must be brought to the Consular Section.
Copy of documents and originals to be authenticated can also be sent by post.
A self addressed and stamped envelope must be included.
For residents in Austria, sufficient stamps to cover the postal costs must be included.
For residents in Slovakia and Slovenia, postal fees must be added to the deposited / transfered  consular fees. Usually the sum of  € 5,20.
