Depending on the purpose of visit and on the visitor's nationality, a visa is not required to enter Brazil. Citizens from Norway and Iceland on a tourism or business trip (business meetings) to Brazil are exempt of visa . For other cases, please check below at "How to apply for a visa".
ATTENTION: to enter Brazil, a passport valid for a minimum of six months is needed. In addition, the Brazilian Migration Police (“PolÃcia Federal”) requests:
- proof of financial means of subsistence for the term of stay

- details on the purpose of the stay, such as hotel reservation in case of a tourism trip.
- travel/health insurance
Argentineans, Bolivians, Chileans, Paraguayans, Peruvians and Uruguayans are exempt from passport requirement to enter Brazil as tourists. Nationals from these countries may simply produce their national identity cards instead.
