RELIGIOUS VISA-VITEM VII
Who is eligible
Clergymen and missionaries with theological or academic religious education who intend to go to Brazil for religious purposes.
Requirements
obtain from the religious institution the following documents:
notarized copy of Act of Establishment of the Church in Brazil;
notarized letter of invitation from the Church in Brazil, signed by its legal representative, assuring lodging and financial support for the intended party and members of his/her accompanying family, and assuming full responsibility for the departure of the clergyman and his/her family from Brazil, when his/her mission finish.;
notarized by MOFA letter from the Church in Taiwan attesting eligibility of the applicant, stating length of stay, place and type of work that will be performed in Brazil.
The Brazil Business Center must legalize the notarization of MOFA. NTD 1,000.00 will be charged.
from the applicant:
two Visa Application Form, filled out, dated and signed by the applicant;
If you are a R.O.C. passport holder, and do not have a valid Brazilian Laisser-Passer you must fill out, also, one Laissez-Passer Form;
a passport valid for a minimum of (6) six months from the date of intended arrival in Brazil, with at least one blank page available;
4 recent 5cm x 7cm photos, front view, white background (snapshots and computer low quality pictures are not accepted);
notarized, by MOFA, certificate of theological or academic religious education indicating assignments as clergyman, legalized at the Brazil Business Center. NTD 1,000.00 will be charged;
Curriculum Vitae;
police clearance issued within the last 3 months, certifying absence of criminal record. This document must be notarized by MOFA and legalized at the Brazil Business Center. NTD 1,000.00 will be charged;
notarized and signed statement of commitment stating that the applicant will not engage in any activity within Indian areas without the proper FUNAI (National Indian Foundation) authorization. The Brazil Business Center must legalize the MOFA notarization. NTD 1,000.00 will be charged;
a copy of the Taiwan Resident Card for foreign residents and/or a valid visa or document to return from Brazil to Taiwan or go to another country;
copy of marriage certificate and birth certificate of dependents, if spouse and/or dependent accompanies applicant . This document must be legalized at the Brazil Business Center. NTD 1,000.00 will be charged for each notarization;
dependents under 18 years of age must have the original birth certificate or a notarized copy, and a notarized letter of consent, signed by both parents The Brazil Business Center must legalized the MOFA notarization in the letter of consent. NTD 1,000.00 will be charged.
The Brazil Business Center may request additional information/documentation, as deemed necessary.
Fees:
R.O.C. passport holders NTD 5,000 (NTD 3,500, plus the LaissezPasser fee NTD 1,500, if needed);
Visa fee for non R.O.C. passport holders NTD 3,500.00. Citizens from Belgium, Italy, Norway and Sweden are exempted from the visa fee;
USA passport holders must pay also a processing fee of NTD 5,000.00 in reciprocity for an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the US;
an additional absent fee of NTD 500.00 will be charged for any application not submitted in person by the applicant;
The Brazil Business Center provides a slip deposit for payment of all consular fees at Bank of Taiwan, Shihlin Branch Taipei.
Note that:
processing takes 2 to 5 working days;
Religious Visas will be issued for a maximum of one year. Though they may be extended in Brazil by the Departamento de PolÃcia MarÃtima, Aeroporturia e de Fronteiras (DPMAF) Extensions must be requested at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the visa.
visas must be used within 90 days from the date of issue.
If planned stay exceeds 90 days, visitors must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 30 days after first arrival in the country. Together with passport, applicant must submit one of the original visa application forms which will be returned once the visa is issued;
check vaccination for information about yellow fever and antipolio shots;
Documents issued in Taiwan must be authenticated by M.O.F.A.
